The STW AG doing spatial planning won the competitive process for the development of the communal and land use planning i.e. the consolidation of the already existing eight communal plans of Bilten, Niederurnen, Oberurnen, Näfels, Mollis, Filzbach, Obstalden and Mühlehorn.
New challenges as well as new opportunities regarding the restructuring of the communities and for the communities theirselves are the result of the new structures of the communities in the canton Glarus.
The reformation of the communal structures enables integral approaches beyond the political borders of the communities.
The challenges are behaviors that encourage, strengthen and preserve cultural identity.
A new self-image of the big municipality will be built and therefore a new positioning in the city association of Switzerland.
Furthermore all needs of the former communities of Glarus North will be met.
An important part of these challenges and opportunities can be realized by the realignment of the communal and land use planning.
