The municipality of Arosa decides arrangements in second house buildings.

On October 23rd 2011 the voting experts from the municipality of Arosa decided on a ballot to enact a „Law on allocation for second housing and a charge of steering tax“.

Currently, about 52% of the houses in the municipality of Arosa are second house buildings. According to an important increase of the second housing construction in the municipality of Arosa at the beginning of the year 2010, the town council decided to elaborate measures to narrow the second housing construction. Therefore they established several working groups.

The STW AG was able to follow them from the very beginning with accurate advice. The first step was an analysis of the actual situation.
Consequently a clear picture of the initial situation was drawn. An important amount of the arrangements taken by the "Law on allocation for second housing and on the charge of steering tax" are the approval of an annual allocation area of 1800 m2 brutto-floor-area and the collection of a charge on recently built second houses with an estimate CHF 700.00 per m2 brutto-floor-area. The law also contains some exemptions, for example the conversion of hotels.
